World
Down Syndrome Day is celebrated throughout the world on March 21st. The date
was chosen because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of the 21st
chromosome. The goal is to promote knowledge and understanding,
seek international support, and achieve dignity, equal rights and a better life
for people with Down syndrome everywhere.
