BOYNTON WOMAN’S CLUB TO SHOWCASE
STUNNING PAPER SCULPTURES ON FEBRUARY 27
Downtown Miami

Christina Lihan, an artist who turns paper into architectural reliefs, will be at the Boynton Woman’s Club on February 27 at 7 p.m. She will be giving a demonstration of how she intricately hand cuts paper to create three-dimensional reliefs of skyscrapers, cityscapes, historic buildings, and European and American landmarks.

Formally trained as an architect, she has turned her talents from the built form to sculpting paper into architecture. She carves, cuts, scores, bends and folds watercolor paper by hand to form facades that come alive with shadows, texture, light and details.

“Although the pieces look like sculpture, they hang on the wall, framed in shadow box frames, and range from 2 inches to 6 inches deep,” explains Ms. Lihan.

Ms. Lihan received her Bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Virginia and went on to get her Master’s in Architecture from Columbia University in N.Y.C. Now a resident of South Florida, she has also lived New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Italy and Czechoslovakia. Her exhibits have been in the Design District in Miami and in midtown Atlanta. She is part of architects’ and private collections in Atlanta, Boca Raton, Manhattan and San Francisco.

This event is free but reservations are required. It will be held at the Boynton Woman’s Club, 1010 S. Federal Highway, Boynton Beach, FL. For more information or to make a reservation call the Boynton Woman’s Club at 561-369-2300 or email boyntonwomansclub@gmail.com.
